Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the US and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She's an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation often. She was hired by ESPN as a reporter in 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since her age of nine. This skill has helped her get her first job with Univision, Miami. She could work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was recruited to the CBS station as a sports journalist. In 2009 she moved from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Her stories covered immigration, drug trafficking, and other issues on both the Texas as well as the Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as an anchor and Spanish reporter on the newscast of 5 p.m., an anchor and reporter for the newscast at 9 p.m. in English and an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. Anchor duties for sports or weather were also frequently requested. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on other responsibilities. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She became a sports host on the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in similar roles as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. There is an older sister. The family moved to Miami after relocating to Mexico in the US. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In June of the year 2006, Antonietta took a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta had just graduated high school but already knew the things she wanted to accomplish. The campus was stunning as well as offered the level of education she sought. After graduation, she attended the University as a media studies major. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the director of WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. His passion for journalism and confidence in herself encouraged her. In turn, she was determined to achieve the standards he set and to not let him down.
